Accessible Film Festival 2018
Showcasing nearly 40 feature, short and documentary films every year, Accessible Film Festival also presents parallel activities such as Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, workshops, virtual reality experiences, exhibitions etc. with the aim of extending the cinema culture.
2018’s concept was new beginnings. To visualize this my partner Alper and I created a concept that was revolving around flying and hatching.
During the screenings which took place at accessible venues in three cities, the visually impaired audience followed the films with audio-description through the headsets they obtained from the festival booths. The hearing impaired audience followed the films with Turkish sign language and detailed subtitles, both embedded on the films, while the audience without any impairments followed the films with the original sounds/language.
