Right Idea Wrong Time

Right Idea Wrong Time was a social documentary series made for National Geographic’s show Valley of the Boom.

The concept of Right Idea Wrong Time was to showcase the brilliant ideas of the early internet years, and how they were unfortunately ahead of their time. Such as an online pet store selling directly to people via the internet, however the infrastructure in the early 1990s was not yet in place.

Like the show’s eccentric visual language that breaks barriers, these short documentaries were also made to be visually very impactful. The goal was to fit as many styles as possible and create a visual collage with whatever look would be the best visual communication tool.

I was the main lead for this project and worked through making the storyboards. Working with a whole team of animators to get all the animations while animating right beside them and illustrating the pieces.
